A high level committee of Environmental Committee finds violations by Gautam Adani’s Mundra Port located at Vibrant Gujarat. Gautam Adani’s firm which is the largest Industrial House of Gujarat is already facing roadblocks on Security Clearance for the Mundra Port which has delayed its expansion plans.
The committee of India’s environment ministry has proposed a penalty of Rs 200 crores on Gautam Adani’s Mundra Port which is one of the most modern Ports in India today. Gautam Adani is also known to be the closest Industrialist confidant of Prime Minister Aspirant Narendra Modi. The environmental ministry committee has found that the clearances for Mundra Port were not taken as per the guidelines, and various State and National agencies were approached in a circuitous manner.
Mundra is also the location where two of the country’s largest power plants are located, owned by Adani Power and Tata Power respectively. Both Plants are dependent on imported coal, and have recently been given clearance by CERC to increase power tariffs to reward them for their myopic business plan which failed after Indonesian Coal prices were benchmarked with Global Coal prices.
